\nhas settled like a shroud<\/p>\n
and this was supposed
\nto fight the terror
\nand deliver whatever<\/p>\n
with Apache helicopters
\nthemselves recalling
\nan earlier ethnic cleansing
\nraining down missile and flame<\/p>\n
what havoc was wrought here
\nin refugee impoverishment
\ninsults the whole of humanity
\nbut it is those especially
\nwho chose to be silent<\/p>\n
and we know who they are
\nthe ones who now prepare
\nin civilised Christian goodwill
\nsilent too on Manger Square
\nafter the dust has settled here
\nto change a regime elsewhere<\/p>\n
and it is this silence that enabled
\nall the desecration to descend
\n the silence of willing accomplices
\ndeliberate stalling diplomacies
\nwhile the crazed, cleaving butcher
\nunleashed his rabid hounds of war
\nand there are no streets anymore<\/p>\n
those who did this seem to imitate
\nclinicians who once tormented them
\nwith real talk of getting rid of lice
\nand the barbed camps of degeneration
\nand the absence of sanitation
\nno electricity or water
\nbulldozers shovelling the slaughter
\nlike something from the Warsaw Ghetto<\/p>\n
and now how to come back from this
\ndemands psychiatric analysis
\nwhere once abused becomes abuser
\ntrapped in the ghetto of traumatised minds
\nwhile new masters remain silent and blind
\no if only perpetrators could see
\nhow their actions will never make them free
