People\u2019s History of Edinburgh<\/h3>\n<p>August 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 6.30 pm,<br \/>\nOutside The Last Drop Public House, Grassmarket<\/p>\n<p>Local historian Allan Armstrong leads us on this walk through the Edinburgh that never makes it into the official guide books. This is the people\u2019s history of \u2018Auld Reekie\u2019 shaped by those who lived here and built it.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Hamish Henderson Memorial Lecture<\/h3>\n<p>Wednesday, August 8<sup>th<\/sup>,<br \/>\nWord Power Book Shop, West Nicholson Street<\/p>\n<p>Hamish Henderson the famous Scots polymath-poet, author, folk singer, song writer, musician, political activist, linguist, intellectual and founder of the Edinburgh People\u2019s Festival \u2013 died in 2002.
